Ingredients
Method
- Fill a copper mug or highball glass to the brim with ice cubes.
- Pour 2 oz vodka over the ice and add 1/2 oz fresh lime juice.
- Slowly top with 4–6 oz chilled ginger beer, filling the mug.
- Stir gently once with a bar spoon to combine without losing the fizz.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint. Serve ice cold immediately.
Notes
Choose a bold, spicy ginger beer made with real ginger — it makes the drink.
Use freshly squeezed lime juice, not bottled.
Keep the ginger beer chilled and pour gently to preserve carbonation.
For a crowd, batch the vodka and lime in a pitcher; add ginger beer per glass.
Non-alcoholic version: skip the vodka and top with extra ginger beer.
