Ingredients

  • 1 pound store-bought or homemade pizza/bread dough room temperature
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen cranberries roughly chopped
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest freshly grated
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease your baking pan with butter or non-stick spray.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a 12×9 inch rectangle.
  3. Spread the softened butter evenly over the surface, leaving a thin border along the top edge.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon, then sprinkle this mixture over the buttered dough.
  5. Distribute the chopped cranberries and half of the orange zest across the cinnamon sugar layer.
  6. Starting from the long edge, roll the dough into a tight log and pinch the seam to seal it.
  7. Cut the log into 8 even slices using a sharp knife or by sliding dental floss underneath and pulling upward to avoid squashing the dough.
  8. Place the rolls into the prepared pan, spacing them evenly.
  9. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
  10. Whisk the powdered sugar and orange juice together until smooth, then drizzle over the warm rolls and garnish with the remaining zest.
